Privacy Policy

What personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Last updated: 5 November 2026

sgdriving.net ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal data in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). It applies to this website. Using the site is also subject to our Terms and Conditions.

1. What we collect

When you sign up

  • Your name and email address (your login).
  • Your password, which is stored only in hashed form: we cannot read it.
  • Optionally, a mobile number and an address, if you enter them.

When you use the site

  • Your practice and test activity: answers, saved tests, flagged and missed questions, and mock test results.
  • Your plans and payments: which plan you bought, when, the amount, its status and the PayPal transaction ID. We do not receive your card or bank details.
  • Comments you post on questions, and messages you send through the contact form.
  • When you last logged in and how many times.
  • Technical data that every web server records, such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested, kept in our hosting provider's server logs.

2. How we use it

  • To create and run your account, and to show your progress.
  • To give you the access you paid for, and to handle payments, renewals and payment problems.
  • To answer your messages and error reports.
  • To send you service emails, such as account activation, password resets and payment or renewal notices.
  • To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
  • To improve our questions and study material, using activity data in aggregate.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Who we share it with

Only with the service providers we need to run the site:

  • PayPal processes payments and subscriptions. When you pay, you give your payment details to PayPal directly, under PayPal's privacy statement.
  • DreamHost hosts the website and the database, in the United States.
  • Google Fonts serves the fonts the site uses, so your browser contacts Google's servers.
  • YouTube: the Driving Videos page shows preview images from YouTube. The video player is loaded, from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain, only when you click play, and YouTube may then set its own cookies.

Some of these providers keep data outside Singapore. We use providers that protect personal data to a standard comparable with the PDPA. We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it.

4. Cookies

We use one essential cookie, the session cookie, to keep you logged in and to remember your place in a test. It is deleted when you close your browser or log out. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Third-party services, such as PayPal at checkout and YouTube when you play a video, may set their own cookies.

5. How long we keep it

  • Account details: while your account exists. Ask us and we will delete it (see section 7).
  • Missed questions: 30 days after you last missed them.
  • Saved tests and mock test history: one month.
  • Payment records: completed payments are kept for our accounts and tax records; unfinished payments are deleted after one year.
  • Contact messages and comments: as long as they are useful to answer you or to improve the questions.
  • Server logs: as kept by our hosting provider, usually a few weeks.

6. How we protect it

The site uses HTTPS, passwords are hashed, access to the database and the admin area is restricted, and payment details are handled only by PayPal. No method of storing or sending data is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and will act promptly if a breach happens, including notifying you and the Personal Data Protection Commission where the PDPA requires it.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Access and correction: you can see and change your name, mobile, address and password in My Profile. You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or to correct it.
  • Deleting your account: use Delete my account at the bottom of My Profile, or ask us. We will delete your account and its personal data, apart from the payment records we must keep. Cancel any active subscription first, so PayPal does not charge you again.
  • Withdrawing consent: you can withdraw your consent to our use of your data at any time. As we need your data to provide your account, this means closing it.

To make a request, send us a message through the contact form, using the email address of your account so we can confirm it is you. We will reply within 30 days.

8. Young users

The site is meant for learner drivers and riders, not for children. If you are under 18, please use it with a parent's or guardian's consent.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell members by email about important changes.

Our Data Protection Officer can be reached through the contact form. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may contact the Personal Data Protection Commission.
